QuickBooks Hosted - Platform Upgrade
Access to QuickBooks Hosted 2011/12 Release 2 is now available only through the improved Windows Server 2008 R2 platform.
Benefits of this improved Windows platform include automatic reconnection if your internet connection is lost and improved load balancing to assist with faster processing. We are confident you will find the improved Windows Server platform provides a superior QuickBooks Hosted experience.
Prior to first using the improved Windows platform, you will need to complete the enhanced 'compatibility check'. This needs to be run even if you have carried out the process before for this platform. The link below will take you to detailed instructions, including videos, and the compatibility check download.
When you first visit the log in page on the improved Windows Server platform, you may be asked to install the Active-X add-on ‘Reckon.cab’ from Quicken Australia. We recommend that you install this to help ensure your PC is compatible.

Why do I need to run the compatibility check? The Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check downloads the correct SSL encryption from Versign SSL Authority and installs it on your PC. This provides enhanced security when accessing QuickBooks Hosted.
Technically, what's changed? The original server platform used Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Release 1 technology. Microsoft has since improved that technology with Windows Server 2008 Release 2. The improvements provide benefits for QuickBooks Hosted users so we have introduced it.
I've noticed your QuickBooks Hosted Premium Service - what is that? The Premium Service provides access to QuickBooks Hosted through the Citrix platform. Apple, iPad and Android devices can login to the Citrix platform, so the Premium Service provides QuickBooks Hosted users with a wider choice of equipment they can use, as well as greater mobility while using the service.
Some Windows PC have also reported improved performance when accessing QuickBooks Hosted through the Premium Service. If you would like more information about the Premium Service, call us on 1300 784 253 and select option 5.
